I think it's a law that you can't have an older motorcycle with a good battery.

I swear, every single bike we’ve gotten in (that it mattered), the battery was shit.

What’s worse, is those “Don’t start anymore, needs a new battery” ads on craiglist? That is actually the case DISTURBINGLY OFTEN.

Dude, you could have sold your bike for more money if you’d just replaced the battery!

My other favorite is “Doesn’t run; carbs need work”

Again, 30 minutes of work with very basic tools and that non-running bike is now a running bike.

I’ll vouch for that.

If you have an old bike with a good battery, it’s because you ride the bike. If you ride your bike, you probably aren’t selling it on Craigslist for an amount of money you made up while you were writing the ad, after you took a portrait photo of one side of your bike late in the evening while drunk.

HEY. HEY. HEY. I was DRINKING, not DRUNK, when I took those photos.

(Also, I hope that sellers never learn. This is my gateway to project bike success. No ragrets.)

“Don’t start anymore, needs a new battery”

“Doesn’t run; carbs need work”

These are the words that can get you a great deal on an easy project bike.

I don’t just mean the battery is dead, but that it doesn’t hold a charge.
